Initial Placement on Salary Schedule
1. A new appointee will generally be placed on step one of the salary schedule for the classification applicable to the position involved.
2. Salary step two will be considered when the prospective employee possesses significantly more related experience and/or education than would normally be expected of applicants for the position.
3. Salary step three will be considered if, in addition to the above, the prospective employee's prior experience occurred in a school setting.
4. The Executive Director may grant initial placement on salary steps four or five under special circumstances when such a decision would be in the best interests of the School.
5. Upon receiving an offer of employment, it shall be the responsibility of the applicant to propose advanced initial placement on the salary schedule. Advance step placement will not be considered after the applicant has accepted the position and begun work.
